The all-new GMC Hummer EV pickup recently made its official debut in China, as GM Authority exclusively reported in September. For the first time in Asia, General Motors is showcasing its breakthrough totally electric vehicle at the 2021 China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is currently underway in Shanghai.

The all-new GMC Hummer EV, which is the first model developed on the Ultium EV platform that GM is heavily promoting in China, is the automaker’s biggest draw at this year’s sole imported vehicle display in China. As a result, the Hummer EV serves to demonstrate the company’s technological prowess as well as the breadth of its product offerings in order to promote a greener, better, and safer future for everybody.

In a statement, GM China Vice President of Premium Import Felix Weller stated, “This is an era of technology revolution, one that is empowering us to deliver new value propositions for our famous nameplates as electrification and intelligent connected driving become game-changing forces.” “At CIIE, we’re creating an all-electric path that will hasten the advent of the carbon peak and carbon neutrality.” It’s our response to a worldwide call to action for sustainability, which includes China’s increasing voices,” he continued.

This is the first time the GMC Hummer EV pickup has been showcased outside of North America, as part of GM’s ambitious marketing campaign to promote the Ultium EV platform and drive the adoption of electric vehicles in China. For the time being, the business has no plans to market the new Hummer EV in Asia.

The GMC Hummer EV pickup emerges as the first supertruck on the market with an extraordinary combination of high performance, high off-road capabilities, and zero emissions, defying the usual idea of a truck. The Edition 1 variation of the electric pickup is on display at the fourth edition of the CIIE show, raising capacities and ushering in a new chapter of sustainable development in the history of the classic American vehicle.

The all-new GMC Hummer EV pickup will be on show at the 2021 CIIE from this Friday until next Wednesday, November 10th, with its main distinctive features including full-throttle Watts to Freedom launch mode and CrabWalk diagonal driving functionality. The purpose of the display is to measure consumer interest in the vehicle and promote the Ultium EV platform in China.
